FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES EXTENSION LEGACY FUND


Each year through its educational programs, Family and Consumer Sciences Extension serves more than 7.5 million Kentucky families of all ages and walks of life. Upholding that tradition requires the resources to keep pace with changing needs. New sources of revenue – including private gifts, grants and bequests – are necessary to launch new programs and strengthen established efforts. You can help Kentucky Family and Consumer Sciences Extension continue to build a strong Kentucky. Family and Consumer Sciences Extension needs support from people who share its commitment to service and understand the connection between strong families and a thriving Commonwealth.

PURPOSE

A permanent fund, The Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Legacy Fund, has been created to honor, memorialize, and celebrate the people who have contributed to the advancement and significance of Family and Consumer Sciences Extension.

The Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Legacy Fund will enhance Family and Consumer Sciences Extension at the university, local, state, and national level. Funds will be awarded to FCS Extension professionals to benefit FCS Extension work. Funds may be used for, but are not limited to, curriculum development, program development, and professional development. The fund will expand the development of a highly-trained, professional staff, and strengthen programming that reaches all Kentuckians.

FUNDS

The Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Legacy Fund will be a permanent Endowment Fund that will be invested to provide support for Family and Consumer Sciences Extension in perpetuity.

You may also choose to make a gift to The Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Legacy Gift Fund. The gift fund will used for immediate annual awarding while the endowment grows and gains interest.

Bequest

Making a bequest, through a provision for University of Kentucky in a will, allows the donor to make a substantial contribution to statewide education and outreach programs without diminishing assets during their lifetime. Since bequests are deductible from the estate, significant tax savings are possible. You can designate the University of Kentucky Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Legacy Fund as the beneficiary of your asset by will, trust or other instrument. Charitable Gift Annuity

You can transfer your cash or appreciated property to the University of Kentucky in exchange for our promise to pay you fixed income (with rates based on your age) for the rest of your life.
